Sonography

Ultrasound scan uses safe high frequency sound waves to create an image of the inside of the body. An ultrasound probe ot transducer generates the sound waves

Ultrasound can be used for monitoring the progress of an unborn baby, examining organ muscles, tendons and ligaments around joints as well as blood flow within your blood vessels

An ultrasound scan is non-invasive and generally painless process that does not use radiation

Radiography

X-Rays are still images (similar to photographs) that are used to medically see through the skin at the underlying bones and soft tissues for signs of any abnormalities

They identify injuries from accidents, screen for and diagnose various medical conditions

X-Ray can be used on just about any part of the body from head down to the toe to identify health problems ranging from broken bone to pneumonia, heart disease and intestinal blockages and kidney stones

X-Ray use small doses of ionised radiation that passes through your body, they are absorbed differently depending on density to produce a diagnostic image

ECG

An ECG measures and records the electrical impulses that travel through the heart with each heartbeat. These impulses cause the heart muscles to contract and pumb blood

ECG helps to diagnose a variety of heart problems including

  • Abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)

  • Coronary heart diseases such as organs and heart attack

  • Damage to heart muscles

  • Problems with the heart’s electrical conduction system

DOPPLER PREGNANCY

ULTRASOUND SCAN

  • Helps detect placental insufficiency which lead to fetal growth restriction or hypoxia - lack of oxygen

  • monitors high risk pregnancies

  • Often used in pregnancies with pre-existing conditions like hypertension or diabetes where the risk of complications is higher

  • detects abnormal blood flow patterns and providing information for deciding when to deliver a baby especially high risk pregnancies
